All releases from Alpha wasn’t iconic, classic and brilliant. Should we say this is more of a curiosity item than pure quality
We already met Alexander Bard’s Barbie on ’Prostitution Twist’ (ONESIN 008) and ’Johnny Johnny’ (ONESIN 21) and on this third single we hear a more ”danceable” sound, created by the one and only Emil Hellman over the original production by Kjell ’Kee Marcello’ Lövbom and Peo Thyrén. I really like the sound of ’Rock It Up’, even though I’m not a big fan of the ”Barbie-singing”.
And not to forget, talking about curiousities – on the flipside we find an unforgettable cover of Belotte-Faltermayer-Forseys ’Hot Stuff’, made famous by Donna Summer in 1979.
